Monthly Reflections
June – is the month dedicated to Dads and summer.
But if Dad is gone, summer no longer feels like a fun time with his absence.
Dad can still be included in any activity by wearing a simple black wristband made of ribbon or leather. The word “Dad” could even be integrated with his memory in some way using beading, marker, embroidery, etc. to indicate his absence. This could be a great way to help young children through their grief process.
A charitable contribution in his memory for Father’s Day is a great way to honor Dad. And, of course, pray for Dad and talk to Dad. The relationship and love are not gone just because Dad no longer has physical form.
Jesus says, “The Kingdom of Heaven is in your midst.” Therefore, our departed loved ones are in our midst. Enjoy them!
